CzechMates Cabochons Projects
These 7mm beads are one of the most popular in the range as they are such a versatile shape. Their holes have the same spacing as the other 2-hole beads in the CzechMates range. They therefore work very well with other multi-hole beads to give lots of design options. We have more CzechMates cabochons projects from the Starman TrendSetters to inspire you.
The 7mm dome-shaped cabochons are very versatile and you can use them in many ways. They’re great for a quick make but you can also incorporate them into more complex designs.
We also have a great range of over 60 colours so you can mix and match them with many other Czech glass beads. The colours include, for example, the popular matt metallics, vibrant saturated metallics, rainbow shades, metallic suede, We also have beautiful picasso effects and more usual colours such as the polychrome and Pacifica effects.
Try using some toning or contrasting colours to make this easy bracelet. This shows how you can add interest by, for example, using Miniduos and 3mm fire-polished beads without detracting from the beautiful cabochons.
The shape of the cabochons makes them a good focal point. Here, for instance, they’re surrounded by the CzechMates single hole prongs to create a lovely flower design.
Similarly, the cabochons are also used as the focal bead in these earrings below. The prongs are used to create a more dramatic effect.
CzechMates 2-hole beads are designed to work together. The striking Queen of the Night Bracelet, for instance, shows how they have the same spacing therefore it’s easy to combine the cabochons and 6mm triangles. This bracelet also uses the prongs to make a lovely edgy contrasting in shape to the cabochons.
The cabochons also work very well with other angular CzechMates such as the 3x10mm 3-hole beam beads. You can use them to make a lovely contrasting frame for the cabochons.
Another example of this striking combination is the Denali cuff.
Here they are again to create a different look.
In addition, you can also use the cabochons and beams to make a circular shape. The pendant here is embellished with the prong beads.
The angular CzechMates diamonds also work very well with the cabochons and provide a lovely contrast. This Diamond Dance bracelet has a central strip formed with the cabochons and an outer edge formed with the diamond CzechMates. You can also vary this versatile pattern by just creating the separate strips rather than joining them.
